Night Agent Beta Notice
Effective Date: August 24, 2026
This Beta Notice describes the current maturity of Night Agent and the risks of using it. It supplements, and does not replace, the Night Agent Terms of Use and the Night Agent Privacy Notice.
You are asked to confirm that you have read this notice before you start a trial. That confirmation is recorded together with the version of this document you were shown.
Early Access Beta
Night Agent is currently available as an Early Access Beta.
Night Agent is functional software that is still being tested and improved through real-world feedback. Features, workflows, and requirements may change during the Early Access period.
Beta software may contain defects, incomplete functionality, or unexpected behavior. Customers should evaluate Night Agent in a lab or non-critical environment before using it with production systems.
The Early Access designation describes the maturity of the product. It is not the same thing as the free trial, which describes your licensing period. A paid license does not change the Early Access status of the software.
Important Upgrade Notice
Firewall upgrades can cause service interruptions, configuration issues, compatibility problems, or loss of management access. Night Agent assists with the upgrade process but cannot eliminate the risks associated with changing firewall software.
Before using Night Agent, customers should:
- Review and approve the proposed upgrade path.
- Maintain a current configuration backup.
- Use an approved maintenance window.
- Confirm that administrative and recovery access are available.
- Review applicable Palo Alto Networks documentation and support requirements.
- Maintain an independent recovery or rollback plan.
- Monitor the firewall throughout the upgrade.
Night Agent does not guarantee a successful upgrade, uninterrupted service, compatibility with every environment, or zero downtime.
Your responsibility
You remain responsible for the firewalls Night Agent operates against, and for the consequences of any change made to them.
If you choose to use Night Agent with production systems, you remain responsible for reviewing the upgrade plan, creating backups, arranging recovery access, selecting an appropriate maintenance window, and supervising the upgrade while it runs.
Night Agent runs on your own machine and operates against devices you direct it at. It does not supervise those devices on your behalf, and it cannot judge whether a particular change is appropriate for your environment.
Reporting problems
Early Access exists so that defects are found here rather than by the next customer. If Night Agent behaves unexpectedly, please tell us — and send the run's support bundle, not just the run identifier.
On the run's status page (or from History), use Download support bundle. It gathers that run's log, the phase-by-phase record and the before-and-after snapshots into a single file you can attach to an email; the run identifier on its own does not tell us what happened. The bundle stays on your machine until you choose to send it, and it leaves out the firewall's configuration backup unless you add it.
Reports are read. They are the reason this release is labelled the way it is.
Changes to this notice
We may update this notice as Night Agent moves through Early Access. The version in force when you accepted it is the version recorded against your acceptance, and it is identified by the effective date above together with a content hash of this document.
Nothing in this notice limits any right you cannot lawfully waive, and nothing in it overrides the Night Agent Terms of Use, which govern in the event of a conflict.
