The trial period and two-firewall limit are intended to help you evaluate whether Night Agent fits your upgrade workflow before purchasing a license.

Important Upgrade Notice

Firewall upgrades can cause service interruptions, configuration issues, compatibility problems, or loss of management access. Night Agent assists with the upgrade process but cannot eliminate the risks associated with changing firewall software.

Before using Night Agent, customers should:

Review and approve the proposed upgrade path.
Maintain a current configuration backup.
Use an approved maintenance window.
Confirm that administrative and recovery access are available.
Review applicable Palo Alto Networks documentation and support requirements.
Maintain an independent recovery or rollback plan.
Monitor the firewall throughout the upgrade.

Night Agent does not guarantee a successful upgrade, uninterrupted service, compatibility with every environment, or zero downtime.

Windows only, for now. Night Agent installs on Windows Server or Windows 10/11 and runs your firewall upgrades over the network from there — nothing is installed on the firewalls themselves. A Linux build is not available yet. If you need one, say so at hello@cedrixsolutions.com rather than starting a trial — each address gets one trial, and we would rather not spend yours on a platform you cannot run.

The Windows installer is code-signed by CedriX Solutions, so Windows shows our name when you run it — how to verify your download.

What happens next

Check your inbox

One email, sent immediately, with your license key and a link to download the installer.

Install and activate

Run the installer, then paste your key into Settings → License. That's the whole setup.

Start with a pre-flight check

Point it at a lab or standby firewall and run pre-checks first — they make no changes at all. Upgrade when you're ready.

What the trial covers

Every feature, with no parts switched off — HA pairs, Azure, Panorama, batches and scheduling all included.

It runs for 30 days from activation, on one installation, against up to 7 devices. An HA pair is two. A device counts from the first time you run checks or an upgrade against it, and removing it afterwards doesn't free the slot.
